The Putins' pets

[Question] Viktoriya Chernova from Komsomolskaya Pravda, Kaliningrad. Vladimir Vladimirovich, when you were acting president, you were shown on TV playing with a white dog. But recently they showed a film in which you played with a black dog. So where has that white dog gone?

[Putin] It has dyed its fur (laughter). She is a girl, so she has dyed her fur.

[Chernova] Seriously, what does it mean?

[Putin] It is a girl. So she has dyed her fur. Girls always dye their hair and change their image.

But to be honest, this is a completely different dog. The other one has not gone anywhere - it is alive and well. But she is the dog of my wife and children. We even have another one exactly the same - white and small. But the Labrador was given to me by Shoygu, Sergey Kozhugetovich, during a trip to a site of the Emergencies Ministry. He lives with us, too. So we have a kennel now. But that is my own dog. That is why I spend more time with it.
